Sewage and its effects

• Sewage is the term used for waste-water that often contains feces, harmful oils and chemicals.
• There are billions of people on Earth, so treating sewage is a big priority.
• All the salt from the winter runs off causes contamination to the water and kills of habitats.
• Oils from our cars run off into the sewers and causes harmful and dirty water cause animals to die off and there habitats. 
• Sewage disposal is a major problem in developing countries as many people in these areas don’t have access to sanitary conditions and clean water.
• Sewage is treated in water treatment plants and the waste is often disposed into the sea.
• Sewage is mostly biodegradable and gets broken down in the environment and then washed into the ocean.
• Flushing chemicals and pharmaceutical substances is harmful, when people are ill viruses and bacteria are carried threw out the environment and sewage cause problems
